Welcoming Baby Arthur | Ashby de la Zouch Newborn Photography

I’m delighted to be sharing this beautiful newborn session from Ashby de la Zouch, celebrating the arrival of baby Arthur and documenting those precious early weeks as a family of four.

One of the things I love most about being an Ashby de la Zouch newborn photographer is being invited into a family's home to capture their story exactly as it is. No two sessions are ever the same, and Arthur's session was full of personality, laughter, and so much love.

A Relaxed In-Home Newborn Session in Ashby de la Zouch

When I arrived, I was greeted by proud big brother Bowen, who at two years old brought enough energy and enthusiasm for the whole household! He was such a character throughout the session and quickly appointed himself my assistant photographer.

I think Bowen enjoyed being behind the camera even more than being in front of it. He loved helping me photograph his baby brother and brought so much fun and spontaneity to the morning. As any parent of a toddler will know, two-year-olds aren't designed to sit still for long, and that's exactly why I love lifestyle newborn photography. The goal isn't perfection; it's capturing genuine family moments and documenting this stage of life as it really is.

Baby Arthur's Newborn Session

Arthur was incredibly relaxed throughout the session. Aside from stopping for a couple of feeds, he barely made a fuss all morning.

One of my favourite things about photographing newborns at home is that sessions can move entirely at baby's pace. There is no rushing, no pressure, and plenty of time for cuddles, feeding, and settling whenever needed.

Arthur spent much of the session awake, which was such a treat. We were able to capture some beautiful photographs of his bright eyes and curious expressions alongside all of those tiny newborn details that change so quickly.
