There’s something incredibly special about being welcomed into a family’s home during those first precious weeks with a new baby.
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting baby Cosmo and spending a relaxed morning documenting this beautiful new chapter for his family in Lichfield. These early days are often filled with so much love, a little sleep deprivation, and the wonderful process of finding your new rhythm as a family. It’s a privilege I never take for granted.
A Morning Spent Capturing Cosmo's Newborn Story
One of the reasons I love in-home newborn photography so much is that every session feels completely unique.
Your home, your family, your routines, and the little details that make your story yours all become part of the photographs. Rather than creating the same images over and over again, my goal is to document this season of life exactly as it unfolds.
Cosmo's session was wonderfully relaxed. We spent the morning moving between different spaces in the home, making the most of the beautiful natural light and capturing a mixture of family moments, newborn details, and all the little interactions that make these galleries so meaningful.
Including Your Pets in Your Newborn Session
Of course, no mention of Cosmo's session would be complete without a mention of Fifi.
Fifi the Pomeranian was an absolute delight and very much considered herself part of the action throughout the morning. She was never far away from the camera and was more than happy to take centre stage whenever the opportunity arose 🐾
As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I absolutely love including pets in sessions. They are such an important part of family life, and the photographs that include them often become some of the most treasured memories.
After all, they were part of the story long before baby arrived.

The family requested a faceless model release, which means that any photographs shared publicly do not reveal identifiable facial features. This is something I am always happy to accommodate.
Every family has different preferences when it comes to sharing photographs online, and I believe those choices should always be respected.
One of the lovely things about newborn photography is that meaningful images don't always require faces. Tiny fingers wrapped around yours, sleepy stretches, cuddles on the sofa, and the details that change so quickly often tell the most powerful stories of all.
