Leicestershire Newborn Photographer | Welcome to the World, Oliver

There is something incredibly special about photographing a family's very first days together.

When I arrived at Oliver's home in Leicestershire, I was welcomed into a calm, cosy space where two new parents were settling into life with their beautiful baby boy. As their first child, everything was still wonderfully new—from learning each other's routines to soaking up every tiny yawn, stretch and cuddle.

At just 11 days old, Oliver was beautifully content throughout his session. There was no rush, no expectations and no pressure. We simply let him lead the pace, pausing whenever he needed feeding, changing or an extra cuddle.

Those slower moments are often the ones that become the most treasured.

A Relaxed At-Home Newborn Session

One of the things my families tell me time and time again is how relieved they are not to have to leave the house with a brand-new baby.

Those first couple of weeks can feel like a blur. You're recovering, adjusting to life as a new family, and learning your baby's cues. Packing changing bags, timing feeds and travelling to a studio can feel overwhelming.

Instead, I come to you.

Everything your baby needs is already within reach, and because we're in your own home, everyone naturally feels more relaxed. If your little one needs feeding or settling, we simply pause. There's never a clock to watch or a strict schedule to follow.

My newborn sessions are completely baby-led because every family deserves to enjoy the experience as much as the photographs themselves.

Your Baby's First Home

One of the reasons I love photographing newborn sessions at home is because your house becomes part of your family's story.

The nursery you've spent months preparing.

The chair where you've already spent countless hours feeding and cuddling your baby.

The bed where you've all gathered for sleepy morning snuggles.

These places may seem ordinary now, but one day they'll be filled with memories.

Years from now, your home will probably look completely different. The nursery will change, furniture will be replaced, and your tiny newborn will be racing around the garden instead.

Your photographs become a beautiful reminder of where it all began.

Your baby's first home is part of their story too.

Celebrating Becoming Mum and Dad

Welcoming your first baby is one of life's biggest milestones.

Everything changes overnight, yet somehow those first weeks pass in the blink of an eye.

One minute you're learning how to hold your newborn, and before you know it, they're smiling, sitting, crawling and taking their first steps.

That's why I gently encourage parents to be in the photographs too.

Not because you need to look perfect, but because one day your child will love seeing the way you looked at them, held them and loved them during those precious first days together.

Those are the memories worth preserving.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my newborn session?

The best time to reserve your newborn session is during pregnancy. I recommend booking from around your 12-week scan onwards to ensure availability around your due date.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

Don't worry—when you book with me, you're reserving your due date rather than a fixed session date.

Because I only accept a limited number of due dates each month, I can keep my diary flexible and arrange your session once your baby arrives.

How old should my baby be?

Newborn sessions are typically photographed between 5 and 14 days old, but this is simply a guide. Some are 2, 3 or even 4 weeks old.

Every family is different, and we'll arrange your session when you feel ready to welcome me into your home.

Do I need a perfect home?

Not at all.

The love and connection between your family are far more important than perfectly tidy rooms.

I use the best natural light available and only photograph in the areas of your home that work best. Most families are amazed by how little space we actually need.

Welcome to the World, Oliver

Thank you so much to Oliver's wonderful family for inviting me into your home and trusting me to capture such a special chapter in your lives.

It was a joy to document these first days together, and I hope these photographs always take you back to the place where your family's story truly began.
